SIMPLE NETWORK WITHOUT REDUNDANCIES

A ‘simple’ network without redundancies is the most straightforward type of OT network for networking your production systems. The structure is very clear, as the topology is kept ultra-simple and is not highly complex. The production systems are divided into security cells for the sake of basic security. This OT network is ideal for straightforward systems that do not require a redundant design.

EXTENDED NETWORK WITH REDUNDANCIES

Unlike the simple network, the central network components of the extended network are designed redundantly so that the OT network remains operational if a component fails. Due to the greater complexity of the OT network, a higher level of IT knowledge is required. The extended network is a very robust OT network and is suitable for critical production systems that rely on permanent availability.

HIGH-AVAILABILITY NETWORK WITH GEO-REDUNDANCY

To further increase reliability, the critical network components in the high-availability network are designed to be geo-redundant and distributed across at least two physical locations. This means that the availability of the OT network can still be ensured in the event of a disaster within a geographical area.
